It was a beautiful morning on Mt Prevost on Sept. 20. I was joined by PG'ers Paul, Cal, Pierre, Rick, David, some others I don't yet know, my wonderful partner/photographer Linda, Jayson and a couple of tandems from Victoria. It was coming straight in Main so Paul and Rick challenged me to launch from there for the first time. I was a little hesitant being that I had always launched from Middle but I wanted my fortieth flight to be memorable, so I accepted. Paul launched first and headed over by the cairn but it was early (pre noon) and the lift was light so he was scratching the ridge. He was soon out of sight and I watched a few launches from Middle. Pierre went off Middle and then swooped over towards the cairn where Paul had patiently scratched back up in suddenly-appearing lift. They both quickly spun up past the cairn and were soon way above launch. Jayson called me back to Main to help set up his tandem with Mani from Victoria. Soon they were off and Rick told me I was up. After a quick wall and line check, my trusty wing was above me and ready to fly. After a few short steps I was off Main launch and towards the now steady thermal cycles. The first of many firsts on this flight. On final now![]() "I'm just going to sit now and take it all in!"![]() Her face says it all :)![]() Josanne greets her hubby after her tandem![]() A wonderful day![]() |
